The famous I HAVE A DREAM
SPEECH was delivered on the 28th of August 1963 at the Lincoln
Memorial, Washington D.C and that was exactly fifty-three (53) years ago. It
arose simply because there existed a problem called racism which our father, Martin Luther
King Jr(MLKJ), was ready to proffer solution to even at the cost of his life.
This past event speaks so
much and one of it’s message is telling us now is to Be A Solution to a
problem. A man is remembered or rewarded by the solution he provides for his
society. I believed as at that time, the whole black race felt the hell-heat of
racism, the crowd of Blacks complained about it but only few decided to proffer
solution to the problem and MLKJ was among those few who took responsibility to
solve the problem.
In the midst of the problem
in our country, in the midst of the ordeal in every sector of our economy, in
the midst of this current era of change, all that is needed is for the Youth to
rise up and DREAM. It is time for the Youths of Nigeria to GIVE UP THEIR
COMFORT ZONE of COMPLAIN and step into THEIR STRENGTH ZONE of RESPONSIBILTY.
The ultimate tragedy is not
the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence of good people.
Lets join hand and dream what generations unborn will remember us for. Who
would have heard of MLKJ if there was no problem called RACISM. Who will hear
of you, put your name, if there is no problem for you to solve.
Only problems trigger Dreams.
FIND A PROBLEM TO SOLVE.
Dream.
BE A SOLUTION.
